Obituary

COLUMBUS, MISS. - Ralph Jackson "Jack" Lindsey, age 88, of Columbus, Miss., formerly of Reform, Ala., died February 7, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Billings and Rev. Adam Homan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Lindsey, Claudie Lindsey and Levi Lindsey; sisters, Wilma Yerby and Edith Snider; and granddaughter, Rachel Sullivan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Wheat Lindsey; daughter, Debbie Wheat; son, George Lindsey (Alice) and Glen Lindsey (Karen); sister, Mary Vickery; brothers, Lewis Lindsey, George W. Lindsey and Joe Lindsey; five grandchildren, Tish McAlister (Danny), Josh Wheat, Dusty Wheat (Amy), Jamey Lindsey (Sieara) and Kayla Lindsey; ten great-grandchildren, Jack Davis, Julia Wheat, Harrison Wheat, Logan Wheat, Conner McAlister, Miranda McAlister, Kaley Irvin, Kristyn Junkin, Tyler Donoho and LynnLee Lindsey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jack was born January 27, 1930 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Lee Lindsey and Lula Mae Shaw Lindsey. He was a retired self-employed excavator and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Pallbearers will be Jamey Lindsey, Josh Wheat, Dusty Wheat, James Tilley, Tommy Williams and Freddie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Davis and employees of Hospice of Baptist Memorial in Columbus.
