Randy Hugh Smith, age 68, of Vernon, AL and formerly of Aliceville passed away March 4, 2023 at Generations of Vernon. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Dean and Bro. Mark Junkin officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Carrollton with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service a the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon "Nessie" Smith.
Survivors include his brother, Tim Smith (Bonnie), six sisters, Rita Boone (Charles Ray Boone), Shelby Buckley (the late David Buckley), Glenda Smith, Pam Quick, Edna Smith and Laurie Chavez (the late Orlando Chavez) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Randy was born November 15, 1954 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Edward Smith and Carolyn Sims Smith. He joined Marvin Chapel Methodist Church at a young age and was a former employee of Rogers Hatchery in Morton, MS.
His nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers are the nurses and staff at Generations of Vernon.
