Raymond Clay Junkin, age 89, of Gordo, AL passed away August 6, 2021 at Ridgeview Health Services in Jasper, AL. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 12, 2021at Gordo City Cemetery with Rev. Kerry Shipp officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the graveside service at the Junkin home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cecil Eugene Junkin, Clint Elvin Junkin and Lummie Mathis Junkin and sister, Valeria Mae Junkin Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Martha L. Madison Junkin; daughter, Mary Ann J. Woods (Eddie); son, Brian S. Junkin (Stacey); brothers, Eaphon Boyd Junkins (Flora Jean), Joe Junkin (Billie); five grandchildren, Kylie Junkin, Madison Woods, Brodie Woods, Hannah Junkin and Cason Junkin and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Junkin was born February 27, 1932 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Eaphon Virley Junkin and Edna Mae Koon Junkin. He was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church and the Gordo Lions Club. Raymond was a retired employee of the Gordo Housing Authority and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Honorary Pallbearers are the nurses at Ridgeview Health Services Station 3.
