Raymond "Babe" Wilburn, age 85, of Echola, AL passed away May 30, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lindsey Watkins officiating.  Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Reform with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Miller Wilburn; son, Glendon Durand Wilburn; his parents; brothers, J. B. Wilburn, Jr., Frank Wilburn and Jack Wilburn and sisters, Grace Lollar and Swan Estes.
Survivors include his daughter, Missy Shirley (Glen); son, Pat Wilburn (Tina); brother, Smith Wilburn; four grandchildren, Brad Shirley (Hannah), Ryan Shirley, Tyler Wilburn (Emily) and Chelsea Clanton (Chris) and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wilburn was born August 28, 1938 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late J. B. Wilburn, Sr. and Ellie Wilson Wilburn.  Raymond, known by "Babe", was retired from Tuscaloosa County Road & Bridge where he operated all types of heavy equipment.  His passion was farming and he loved tractors, cows and cutting and rolling hay.  Babe loved gardening and was known for his watermelons.  He was a good friend to all and a hard worker.  He will be missed.
Pallbearers will be Brad Shirley, Ryan Shirley, Tyler Wilburn, Chris Clinton, James Estes and Ken Estes.
Honorary Pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Echola and Gordo, nephew, Lannie Estes and Mabel, special caregivers, Belinda Swindle, Jamie Estes and Southern Care Hospice.
