Rena Jean Duncan, age 86, of Ethelsville, AL passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel in Reform, AL with Rev. Lenwood Gilliland and Rev. Antonio Henry officiating. Burial will follow the service in Forest Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Lee Duncan; her parents; sisters, Peggy Hanson and Betty Kelley and brothers, Bob Pate and Billy Ray Pate.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hallman; two God-daughters, Pauline Oglesby and Margie Sledge; sister, Joyce Ann Coats (Wayne); brother, Butch Pate (Glenda) and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was born in Pickens County, AL on August 2, 1934 to the late Raymond Robert Pate and Ethel Mae Bonner Pate. She was a retired testing operator for United Technology in Columbus, MS with 44 years of service, a member of Ethelsville Baptist Church and a well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Oglesby, Lucas Baines, Lance Baines, Ronny Cabiness, Nathan Sledge, Justin Sledge and Kendall Coats.
Honorary Pallbearers are employees of United Technologies of Columbus, MS, Lonnie Martin, Raymond Sledge, Frances Henry, Amedisys Home Health and Dr. Julia Boothe.
The family suggests all memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
