Rhoda Mae Posey, age 95, of Gordo, AL passed away July 25, 2022 at Heritage Health & Rehab in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11 :00 am Thursday, July 28 , 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel in Reform with Rev. Benjamin Posey and Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Center Springs Cemetery in Gordo with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Levis E. Posey; daughter, Sharon Louise Posey; her parents; sisters, Inez D. Hoover and Anna Rachel Dillard and brothers, Everett Dillard, Raiford Dillard and Larry L. Dillard.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda P. Pate and husband, Johnny; son, Bobby D. Posey and wife, Brenda; five grandchildren, Jennifer P. Free (Tim), Cindy P. Taylor (Ryan), Ben Posey (Tori), Jonathan Pate (Kelly) and Brittany P. Campbell (Michael); eleven great grandchildren, Nicholas Traywick, Carson Traywick, Caroline Taylor, Emily Taylor, Gabriel Posey, Asher Posey, Lydia Posey, Kristian Posey, Kyson Pate, Collin Pate and Cooper Campbell; two great-great grandchildren, Melodii Traywick and Thea Traywick; sister in law, Eunice Graham; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Rhoda was born July 7, 1927 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Willie P. Dillard and Audra Junkin Dillard. She was a member of Gordo First United Methodist Church and a retired seamstress.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Pate, Nick Traywick, Carson Traywick, Ryan Taylor, Michael Campbell, Jamie Chapman, Bo Chapman and Koy Chapman.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Ruth Corr Sunday School Class, members of Gordo First United Methodist Church, and Staff of Heritage Health Care.
