Robert Hugh Akin, age 63, of Carrollton, AL passed away December 30, 2020 at his residence. Private graveside services will be 1:00 pm Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Rev. Larry Potts officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Jordan Akin; brother, David Earl Akin and his grandparents, Francis Moseley and Adelle Butler Wright and James W. "Jim" and Estelle Winborne Akin.
Survivors include his mother, Lorin Wright Akin; brother, James William Akin; two sisters, Evelyn Akin McElroy and Ruth Akin Greer; nephews, Andy McElroy and Bryan McElroy (Sherra); nieces, Erin Greer and Megan Greer; great-nephews, Andrew McElroy, Auston McElroy and Bryan McElroy, Jr. and great-niece, Hannah McElroy.
Robert was born November 23, 1957 in Aliceville, Alabama. He was a hardworking, loving son and brother and was a lifelong resident of Pickens County. Robert was a 1976 graduate of Pickens Academy, a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked in the logging industry his entire life.
