Robert Earl Jaynes, age 88, of Ethelsville, AL passed away August 4, 2024 at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab in Reform.  Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Ethelsville Baptist Church with Rev. Mel Howton and Rev. David Westmoreland officiating.  Burial will be in Ethelsville Community Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to and after the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reva Marie Lancaster Jaynes; his parents; brother. Danny Johnston and sisters, Fanny Mae Hall and Mary Emma Reverette.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Davidson Jaynes; daughter, Darnell Livingston (Tim) of Ethelsville; stepdaughter. Cynthia Whitley (Paul) of Helena; sons, Alan Jaynes (Kim) of Ethelsville and Kenneth Jaynes (Linda) of Ethelsville; brothers, Luther Jaynes (Doris) of Norway, ME, Bill Jaynes (Yvonne) of Bella Vista, AR and Larry Jaynes (Jeanette) of Muscle Shoals; sister, Sarah Arney of Longview, MS; two grandchildren, Kayla Alexander (Louie) and Lee Jaynes; three step-grandchildren, Cameron Whitley (Karlee), Chloe Whitley Caffee (Zachary) and Collin Whitley; great-grandchild, Madison Alexander and two step great-grandchildren, Logan Caffee and Arthur Caffee.
Robert Earl was born August 28, 1935 in Ethelsville, Alabama to the late Robert H  enry Jaynes and Meta Huffman Jaynes.  He was a member of Ethelsville Baptist Church and a retired railroad engineer for Kansas City Railroad with 42 years of service.  He was a veteran of the U. S. National Guard Company B, 31st Dixie Division Infantry and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Lee Jaynes, Collin Whitley, Cameron Whitley, Louie Alexander, Mike Gore and Paul Whitley.
