REFORM | Robert E. Pugh, age 97, of Reform, died July 16, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015, at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Minnie Frances Sanford Pugh; parents; brothers, Rubel, Roland, Ralph, Calvin, James, Albert, and Luther Pugh; and sisters, Roberta Perrigin, Bonnie Champion and Ola Mae Smitherman.Survivors include his sons, Doug Pugh (Sandra) and Dennis Pugh (Barbara) of Reform; sister, Frances Langford of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Keith Pugh (Tonya), Kevin Pugh (Heather), Kristel Pugh, Jureda Windham, Lori Lowery and Melanie Sutton; and great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Dalton Pugh, Sidney and Marshall Pugh, Weston and Addison Lowery, Riley and River Windham, Lily, Chloe, and Kohl Sutton.Robert was born April 1, 1918, in Gordo, Ala., to the late Robert Roy Pugh and Ellen Cabiness Pugh. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, a retired employee of Alabama Power, a United States Army veteran of World War II and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, retired employees and present employees of Alabama Power Company, and a special thanks to Lisa Camp and Judy Davidson. -
