James Roger Dale O'Mary, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away October 1, 2021 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Englewood Baptist Church, 9700 Old Greensboro Road in Tuscaloosa with Rev. Randy Beard and Rev. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Rodney O'Mary; his parents and brother, Doug Woods.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gloria Noland O'Mary; his daughters, Leslie O. Jordan, Brandy L. Weaver and Brittney N. O'Mary, all of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Dan O'Mary and Duain Woods; sister, Joyce Watson; five grandchildren, Chasitie O. Barbee, Josh D. Marlowe, Cory L. Ballenger, Daltyn T. Poole and Faith D. Boyd; seven great-grandchildren and special junior caregivers, Kaylie and Jase Barbee, Daltyn Poole and Camryn O'Mary.
Roger was born October 25, 1945 in Gordo, Alabama to the late, James Carroll O'Mary and Ruthie Lorrene Hall O'Mary. He was a retired plumber and pipe fitter with Local 372 and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Roger loved Alabama Football and was a die hard Gordo Greenwave fan. He was well known by his family and friends as a great softball player. Roger was a loving husband, father, brother and a proud grandfather who loved all of his grandchildren.
