Roger Dale Parker, age 77, of Gordo, AL passed away January 5, 2025 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Chris McCool and Elder Tim McCool officiating. Burial will be in Double Branch Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Parker; daughter, Miranda Dell Parker; his parents; brothers, Billy Ray Livingston and Willard Eugene Livingston; sister, Vera Mae McCool and granddaughter, Cassidy Lea Tierce.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Parker; daughters, Kristy Bailey and Shannon Driver; sons, Sean Tierce (Taylor), Brad Flowers (Lucy) and Rustin Flowers; brother, Dee Parker; sister, Jewel Moss, ten grandchildren, Tyler Bailey, Trace Parker (Kalyn), Cole Driver, John Parker Driver, Cade Tierce (Makaelynn), Kylie Flowers, Jackson Flowers and Lillian Kate Flowers and one great-grandchild, Oaklynn Tierce.
Roger was born August 29, 1947 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Raymond Aubra Parker and Monica Eucylle Carroll Parker. He was a member of Zion Primitive Baptist Church and a former employee of Tamco Roofing.
Roger was a great man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Roger lived for his family, the outdoors, his animals (especially Bo) and his church. He loved nothing more than teaching his kids and grandkids about life, hunting, fishing, how to work and how to love God. Roger was also a father to more than just his kids. He took care of anyone that needed him. Roger will be greatly missed. He will never by replaced. Stories and memories of Roger will remain in our hearts forever.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Bailey, Trace Parker, Cade Tierce, Cole Driver, John Parker Driver and Rustin Flowers.
Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Zion Primitive Baptist and sister churches, Zion community, Gordo High School Class of 1965 and Deer Ridge Hunting Club.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the cemetery funds of Zion Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Glendon Junkin, Treasurer, 8152 Hwy 159, Gordo, AL 35466 and Double Branch Baptist, 9250 Hwy 159 N., Gordo, AL 35466.
