Roger Neil Smith, age 71, of Carrollton, AL passed away June 19, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Pickensville Lower Cemetery with Bro. Mike Ezelle officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Robert Casey Walker; grandparents, Edgar and Theo Vernon; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Hammond and niece, Amanda Smitherman Carroll.
Survivors include his wife, of 46 years, Lisa Walker Smith; two sons, Seth Andrew Smith (Jamie Wyatt Smith) and Spencer Aaron Smith (Savannah Boyd Smith); sister, Ann Vining Lawrence; brother-in-law, Steven Walker; two grandchildren, Kollyn Wyatt Hammond and Chloe Lynn Smith and great-granddaughter, Sadie Rose Hammond.
Roger was born June 19, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Bobby Lee Smith and Frances Louise Vernon Smith.  He was a member of Garden Baptist Church, a retired machinist and horticulturist and a veteran of the United States Army.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Children's Hospital, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233-1785 or to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
