PICKENSVILLE | Ronald Kirk "Ronnie" Griffin, age 79, of Pickensville, died Dec. 20, 2014, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Pickensville with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Garden with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kirk Alvin Griffin; and his niece, Elizabeth Ann Gibson.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Stephens Griffin of Pickensville, Ala.; mother, Helene Griffin of Carrollton, Ala.; daughter, Stacy Griffin Jones and husband, Tim, of Pickensville, Ala.; son, Stephen Kirk Griffin and wife, Megan, of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Serena Griffin Ammons (Jimmy) of Dacula, Ga., and Janice Griffin Speed (Roy) of Fairhope, Ala.; brother, Larry "Butch" Griffin (Lana) of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Charli Jones Parker (Jamie), Casey Griffin Jones, Andrew Kirk Griffin, and Aaron Philip Griffin; one great-grandchildren, James Timothy Parker; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Griffin was born on October 12, 1935 in Cullman, Alabama to Helene Elizabeth Kelly Griffin and the late Kirk Alvin Griffin. He was a retired fire fighter having worked with the Birmingham Fire Department, a veteran of the Alabama National Guard and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pickensville, Ala. Ronnie was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather that will be missed by his family and friends but will always be in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Casey Jones, Andrew Griffin, Aaron Griffin, Jamie Parker, Ernie Fason, Ted Ezelle, David Walker and Harry Edwards.
