December 2, 1932 – January 26, 2019
On Saturday, January 26, 2019 Rosemary Crawford Brown, wife of James W. Brown and mother of two daughters, passed away at the age of 86. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 31, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Gordo with Rev. Pat Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be will be one hour prior to the service and reception to follow.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Senior Master Sgt. James W. Brown; her parents; six siblings and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Valri E. Brown and Valynda B. Watson and husband, Gary; four grandchildren, Travis Turnipseed , Brenton Turnipseed, Courtney Watson McIntosh and Kendall Watson; four great-grandchildren, Brody and Beau Turnipseed, Trace Turnipseed and Ellie Crawford McIntosh and two siblings, Francis Buchannan and Kevin Ellington.
Rosemary Brown was born December 2, 1932 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Sampie Crawford and Violet Ingram Crawford. She graduated from Minden High School in 1951 and shortly thereafter moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she met and married James W. Brown from Gordo, Alabama. "Jimmy" was stationed at Carswell AFB serving our country in the Air Force. They raised two daughters, Valri E. Brown and Valynda B. Watson.
Rosemary had a passion for bowling, sewing, needlepoint, crocheting and quilting.
She was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and children as well as a faithful military spouse.
Pallbearers will be Gary Watson, Travis Turnipseed, Brenton Turnipseed, Owens Brown, Mike Sullivan and Brian McIntosh.
Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Ellington, Lewis Jones and Walter Brown.
