Roy Paul Parker, age 94, of Gordo, Ala., passed away November 17, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hershel Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Alfred and Bertha Parker; stepmother, Pearl Parker; a number of siblings; and a granddaughter, Dana Hardy.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Doris H. Parker; daughters, Wanda Butler (Randy), Gwen Trull (Grafton) and Linda Blanton (Jimmy); sons, Randy Hardy, Terry Parker, Ray Parker and Bobby Parker (Nina); sisters, Minnie Mae Campbell and Avalee Richardson; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roy was born December 27, 1923 in Lamar County Alabama to the late George Alfred and Bertha Parker. He was a retired mechanic and timber cutter. Roy enjoyed music, playing the guitar and was always stepping up to help someone in need.
