Roy Gene Plymon, age 81, of Ethelsville, AL died January 16, 2026 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, January 19, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Lucas officiating and eulogy by his son, Allen Plymon.  Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sue C. Plymon of Ethelsville, daughters, Landy Plymon McDill (Jimmy) of Ethelsville and Mandy Plymon Crowe (Byron) of Gordo; son, Roy Allen Plymon (Ramona) of Hayden; brother, Mike Plymon (Diane) of South Port, NC; sister, Barbara Fulcher of Louisville, MS; three grandchildren, Taylor Plymon Posey (Jackson), Madison Crowe McLaughlin (Hunter) and Lyndsey Plymon and two great-grandchildren, Tucker McLaughlin and baby boy McLaughlin, soon to be here in April.
Roy was born May 29, 1944 in McShan, Alabama to the late Roy Hubert Plymon and Cherry Alice Fant Plymon.  He was a graduate of Pickens County High School, a retired machinist with Burford Electric in Columbus, MS with 25 years of service and a Pastor for 53 years at various churches and had served the last 28 years as Pastor at Mt. Moriah Free Will Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Cowart, Jerry Perrigin, Tim Brasher, Rob Walker, Jackson Posey and Hunter McLaughlin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Pickens County High School Class of 1962, Mt. Moriah Associational Pastors and members of Mt. Moriah FWB Church.  Special thanks to Lisa Pate with Enhabit Home Health and Kim Watkins with Enhabit Hospice, Dr. John Whitecar and Dr. Julius Kato.
