Ruby Nell Burkhalter, age 94, of Millport, AL passed away January 2, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Revis "Buck" Burkhalter; stepson, William K. "Billy" Burkhalter; son-in-law, Lynn Jordan; her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Jordan; two sons, Carl Burkhalter (Holly) and Clark Cooper; eight grandchildren, Felicia (Brandon), Tracy (Justin), Tiffany, Chrystal, Emily, Jonathan, Patrick and Ruby; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby was born November 11, 1926 in Kennedy, Alabama to the late John Rushing and Eppie Nabors Rushing. She was a retired employee of American Bosch in Columbus, MS.
Pallbearers will be Barry Wilson, Ryan Pennington, Robert Stewart, Mark Jordan, Justin Vaughn and Brandon Flowers.
