Ruby Dean Oglesby, age 93, of Gordo, AL passed away October 15, 2020 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Hargrove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Ryan James officiating and Skelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service on the front portico of the church.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Larry Sullivan and Jerry Sullivan; her parents; brothers, Ed Parker , Junior Parker, Billy Parker and Raiford Parker and sisters, Jewel Snipes and Jean Parker.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Parker; sister, Barbara Lancaster (Joe); special nieces, Darlene Miller (Troy) and Diane Fair (Tommy); seven grandchildren, Mike Sullivan (Tracy), Keith Sullivan, Renea Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan, Dawn Jones, Tara James (Ryan) and Kim Perrigin (Mike); a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Oglesby was born May 2, 1927 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Sam Parker and Lee Montgomery Parker. She was a member of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Westinghouse.
Maw Maw loved cooking for her family and her garden. She will be missed.
