Russell Edward "Rusty" Vitt, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away July 13, 2023 at his residence.  Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton, MS with J. E. Sims and Charles Whitney officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Northport Baptist Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Muriell Vitt of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Kimberly Carter (Kent) of Greenwood, MS' son, William "Bud" Vitt (Angie) of Tuscaloosa; brother, Mickey Vitt (Betty) of Raymond, MS and four grandchildren, Nathan Carter, Natalie Merchan, David Russell Vitt and Jack Carter.
Rusty was born August 5, 1953 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late August Edward Vitt and Bessie Murphy Vitt. He was a member of Northport Baptist Church and an employee of General Machinery with 30 plus years of service.
Pallbearers will be William "Bud" Vitt, Kent Carter, Patrick Rubio, Nathan Carter, Jack Carter and David Vitt.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mickey Vitt, Kris Vitt, Dr. John Hinton and John Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Skelton Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
