Ruth Simpson Fullerton, age 88, of Reform, AL passed away October 27, 2021 at Kent VA Foster Home in Sapps. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Stansel Baptist Church with Bro. Joey Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. The family requests that masks be worn for the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sybil Perry and brothers, Roger Simpson, Harold Simpson and Jerry "Bo" Simpson.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, William "Bill" Fullerton; daughters, Karen Dillard (Thomas) and Cheryl Duncan (Calvin); sister, Gypsy Helmers (Henry); seven grandchildren, Amanda Soong (Peily), Sara Thompson (Craig), Rachel Wells (Brian), Ray Dillard (Jess), Rebecca Dillard, Meg Dillard and Claire Barham (Will) and five great-grandchildren, Libby and Oliver Soong, Elliot Thompson, John Wells and Lily Barham.
Ruth was born April 26, 1933 in the Stansel community to the late S. D. Simpson and Wilma Yarbrough Simpson and spent her whole life within that community. She was a lifelong member of Stansel Baptist Church. Known as "Mawmaw" to her family, Ruth was a gifted homemaker with extraordinary cooking skills and sewing talents which were enjoyed by the whole family.
Her nephews will serve at Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Bethel Cemetery, c/o Ken Simpson, 30796 Hwy 17, Reform, AL 35481.
