Ruth Acker McDaniel, age 89, of Carrollton, AL passed away August 17, 2021 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shawn McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oneal McDaniel; her parents; brothers, Frank Acker and Billy Acker and sisters, Floree Aycock, Luvenia Etheridge, Kathleen Kilgore and Sara Hanson.
Survivors include her sons, Dennis McDaniel (Lisa) and Timmy McDaniel; five grandchildren, Zach McDaniel (Paula), Kendall McDaniel Martin (Barron), Hayden McDaniel, Karley McDaniel and Banks Hutchings; six great-grandchildren, Cameron McDaniel, Emma McDaniel, Leo Junkin, Caroline Ruth McDaniel, Ellis Martin and Oneal Martin and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born January 4, 1932 in Alabama to the late William Atley Acker and Ottie Louise McDaniel Acker. She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse and a well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Steven Kilgore, Brian Kilgore, Ken Acker, Rodney Etheridge, Larry Aycock and Russell Hanson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Acker, Alan Spencer and Tim Conway.
