Sammie Garner Howard, Sr., age 84, of Carrollton, AL passed away November 6, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. No public services will be held.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Carroll Howard; his parents; brothers, Bill Howard and Bobby Howard and sister, Jewel Porter.
Survivors include his daughters, Gwen Hall and Patty Hagood; son, Sammie Garner Howard, Jr. (Kim); sister, Diane Elliot; six grandchildren, Michael Hall, Jr., Sammie Garner Howard III, Michelle Howard, Dalton Hagood, Brooke Hagood and Conner Howard; nine great-grandchildren, Cameron McDaniel, Summer Howard, Sam G. Howard IV, Silas Howard, Stone Howard, Sadie Howard, Marley Howard, Ryder Peeks and Alice Howard and his two dogs, Lucy and Yappy.
Mr. Howard was born September 6, 1937 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Henry Clayton Howard and Berley Kyles Howard. He was a member of the Baptist faith, retired owner of Howard Refrigeration and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
