Obituary

Samuel Earl "Sammy" Harcrow, age 70, of Ethelsville, AL died June 17, 2018 at home. Funeral
services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Aliceville First Baptist Church with Rev.
Charlie Wilson and Rev. Charles Young officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens
with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation is Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 6 - 8 pm
at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville, AL.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janice Tate Harcrow; daughter, Angelia H. Gates;
son, Darrell Harcrow; sisters, Brenda Parker (Terry) and Rena Jones (Gary) ; sister-in-law, Peggy
Strawn; brothers, Roger Harcrow (Sean) and Donald Harcrow (Marilyn); five grandchildren, Amber
Fuller (Cody), Dr. Haley Gates (Dr. Clark Alves), Wesley Gates (Torrie), Hunter Harcrow and
Hannah Gates and great-grandchild, Piper Rein Fuller.
Sammy was born December 15, 1947 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late James
Monroe Harcrow and Helen Britt Harcrow. He was a member of Aliceville First Baptist
Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and church choir member.
Sammy was a graduate of Carrollton High School Class of 1966 and Shelton State Community
College Barbering School. He was owner and operator of Southern Barber Shop in
Columbus, MS for over 50 years.
Pallbearers are Wesley Gates, Hunter Harcrow, Clark Alves, Cody Fuller,
Jacob Price, Teddy Ezelle, Timmy Gates, Allen Russell, Sam Henderson and Larry Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Sojourners Sunday School Class, Bill Mason and
Larry Turman.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Aliceville First Baptist Church
Choir, 323 Broad Street, Aliceville, AL 35442.
