Sara Jane Harmon Tackett, age 80, of Aliceville, AL passed away September 18, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 25, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Aliceville with Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. A private burial will be held in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Madison Tackett; her parents and brother, James Thomas Harmon.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Tackett von Eschenbach (John) and Sheri Tackett Parker (Jay); four grandchildren, John James "JJ" and Molly von Eschenbach and James and William Parker; cousin, Ila Faye Miller; sister-in-law, Sue Gail Tackett; niece, Susan Tackett Cox and nephew, Garland Tackett.
Sara was born November 15, 1940 in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Lankford Harmon and Una Mae Washington Harmon. A 1962 graduate of the University of Alabama, she was President of Pi Beta Phi, Secretary and Vice President of Triangle, Women's Service Honorary and a member of Mortar Board Honor Society at U of A. Sara retired from the law firm of Baxley, Dillard, Dauphin and McKnight after 20 years of service as corporate administrative manager and was a member of First Baptist Church of Aliceville coming from Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
