ALICEVILLE Sara Turnipseed Hemphill, age 84, of Aliceville, Ala., died December 2, 2013 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at West End Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Griffin and Rev. David Barrentine officiating, and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Burial will follow services in Magnolia Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.She is preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin F. Turnipseed and Robert Hemphill; her grandson, Shawn F. Turnipseed; her parents; Step-mother, Lottie Acker; sisters Fronia Ray Goodman, Doris Sparks, and Lourice Rottenberry; and infant great granddaughter, Faith Turnipseed.She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lindsey (Howard) and Frieda Blakney (Bud); her sons, Billy Turnipseed and Eddie Turnipseed; her sisters, Evelyn McDaniel, Jean Crawford, and Beatrice Ward; brothers, R. L. Acker, Jr. and David Acker; nine grandchildren: twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.Mrs. Hemphill was born October 30, 1929 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Robert Lee Acker and ShaFronia Hicks Acker. She was a member of the Baptist faith, a homemaker, and a life long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Hal Lindsey, Bart Lindsey, Jeremy Turnipseed, Travis Turnipseed, Brenton Turnipseed, and Josh Turnipseed.
