ALICEVILLE | Sara Floyd Murphy, age 92, of Aliceville, died May 27, 2015, at Pickens County Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Dr. Thomas G Kay, Jr., officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Millsap, who was killed in WWII; second husband, Sam Murphy; daughter, Sara Louise Murphy; a foster son, Terry Jones; siblings, Frank Floyd, Kathleen May, Marjorie Davis, Doris Elmore, Claude S. Floyd and Charles M. Floyd.Survivors include her brothers, James E. Floyd and his wife, Daisy of Gordo, Ala. and Merrill G. Floyd of Aliceville, Ala.; sister-in-law, Mary Nell Floyd of Gordo, Ala.; brother-in-law, Joe Davis of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews.Sara was born July 29, 1922 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Claude W. Floyd and Gladys Strickland Floyd. She was former employee of Alabama Power Company and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite of one's choice.
