Sarah Ruth Anderson, age 86, of Gordo, AL died Friday, November 27, 2020 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 at Center Springs Cemetery in Gordo, AL with Brother Byron Fair officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. A short visitation will be held immediately following the graveside service. The family requests that all family and friends wear masks due to COVID-19.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Anderson; parents, Floyd and Pauline Shirley; sisters, Elsie Ray, Earlene Fife, Mary Shirley, and Doris Mullenix; and brother, John William Shirley.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Comerford(Malcolm) and Karen Gregory(Terry); son, Chris Anderson(Kim); sister, Violet McCool; grandchildren, Nikki Chandler(Shane), Jared Comerford, Jeff Gregory(Ashley), April Luna(Jeremy), Candace Anderson, and Kaleb Anderson(Paige);and great grandchildren, Neela Chandler, Alyssa Chandler, Blane Chandler, Raines Gregory, Hollyn Gregory, Gracie Falls, Cooper Falls, and Emily Luna.

Sarah was born June 18, 1934 in Pickens County, AL to the late George Floyd and Pauline Byars Shirley. She was a member of Elmore-Center United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and a well-known resident of Gordo.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gregory, Jared Comerford, Kaleb Anderson, Tony Cowart, Rodney McCool, and Chan Mullenix. Honorary pallbearers are her special friends, Sonny and Rose Byars, Darby Shirley, and Elmore-Center Church family.
