Obituary

Sarah Nell Jacobs, age 85, of Aliceville, AL passed away June 25, 2023 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.  Memorial services will be 11:00 am Monday, July  3, 2023 at Dogwood Chapel with Bro. Rodney Hedrick officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her 1st  husband, Luther Hardy, Jr.; her 2nd husband, James Luvert Jacobs; her parents; sister, Ethel Virginia Lee (Lewis); brother, Bruce Eugene Hickman (Sue); son-in-law, Stanley Harris and special friend, Billy Franklin.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Hester (Wayne) of Aliceville; Tammy Harris of Waggaman, LA and Shannon Schmidt (Chuck) of Ocean Springs, MS; son, Kenneth Dewayne "Boe" Hardy of Aliceville; sister, Dorothy Muriel Pearson (Bobby) of Carrollton; nine grandchildren, Tonya Hardy, Michelle Murphy, Christopher Hester, Sabrina Pfeaniger, Shane Rowell, Shawn Rowell, James Earl Harris, Bryan Allen Harris and Christie Harris and ten great-grandchildren.
Sarah was born February 4, 1938 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Samuel Elars "Shorty" Hickman and Mary Ruth Edgeworth Hickman. She was a member of Aliceville Pentecostal Church of God, a retired employee of Westinghouse with 16 years of service and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Honorary Pallbearers are employees of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Don Hickman, Perry Hickman, Terry Pearson, Dennis Lee, Shane Rowell and Shawn Rowell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
