ALICEVILLE | Sarah Heritage Reece, age 70, of Aliceville, died July 6, 2015, at UAB Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at West End Baptist Church with Rev. James Hammack and Rev. Jimmy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Sapps with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ellen Ruth Lashley and Clara Ann Harris; and brother, John Massey Heritage.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Reece of Aliceville, Ala.; daughter, Lori R. McGlawn and husband, Gordon of Aliceville, Ala.; brothers, A.J. Heritage, Jr. and James E. Heritage, both of Aliceville, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Bo, Reece, Joseph and Grady McGlawn.
Sarah was born January 24, 1945 in the Sapps community of Alabama to the late Andrew Jackson Heritage, Sr. and Mabel Jay Heritage. She was a member of West End Baptist Church, retired bookkeeper for Aliceville Body Shop and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Johnny Heritage, Glenn Heritage, Brent Lashley, Jeff McCool, Mark Heritage, Jack Webb, Darden Heritage, Phil Dahl and Tim Lawrence.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim McDaniel, deacons of West End Baptist, C.P. Wilson and previous pastors of West End Baptist Church, Rev. Jack House and Rev. Mike Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to West End Baptist Church, 130 Mobile Road NW, Aliceville, AL 35442. -
