William Searcy Junkin, age 85, of Reform, AL passed away August 10, 2021 at UAB Hospital Palliative Care in Birmingham. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 14, 2021 at First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform with Rev. Hunter Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Daisy Junkin; his daughter, Tami; his parents; brothers, J. G. Junkin and Mayo Junkin; sisters, Maudeal Shelton, Estelle McCrary and Berticell Junkin and stepson, Brad West.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Cutting Junkin; daughters, Teresa Hicks (Jesse) and Cindy McDaniel (Ray); stepdaughters, Brandee Delany and Donna Cutting; stepson, Leslie Cutting (Lisa); two sisters, Jean Richardson and Janice Cook (Larry); two grandchildren, Zackary Pate and Mallory Shaw; six step-grandchildren, Tyler, Nick, Tiffany, Sydney, Marcus and Alec and special caregiver, Peggy Sullivan.
Searcy was born April 10, 1936 in Reform, Alabama to the late Elbert Lee Junkin and Arie Bailey Junkin. He was a deacon and charter member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform and a retired employee of Southern Heat Exchangers. Searcy was a veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP and a life long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be David Richardson, Johnny Richardson, Kyle Richardson, Randy Junkin, James Junkin, Butch Shelton, Bud Shelton, Freddy Shelton, Frank Shelton and Sonny Shelton.
Honorary Pallbearers are the members of First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform.
