Sonny Seymer, age 78, of Ethelsville, AL passed away December 29, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, December 31, 2021 at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Reform with Rev. Lindsey Watkins and Rev. George Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Seymer; an infant brother and niece, Vicki Seymer.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Kee Seymer of Ethelsville; daughter, Jo Jo Seymer of Gordo; son, Jeff Seymer (Margaret) of McShan; four grandchildren, Sunny Johnson (Matthew), Trace Moore (Lindsey), Chipper Seymer and Keeley Moore and four great-grandchildren, Bryson Johnson, Sawyer Johnson, Hobson Moore and Mollie Johnson.
Sonny was born July 24, 1943 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Jessie Willard Seymer and Edna Pauline Perrigin Seymer. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church and retired employee of GenCorp in Columbus, MS.
Pallbearers will be Trace Moore, Chipper Seymer, Tim Oglesby, Ronnie Cabiness, Terry Lowe, Matthew Johnson, Jay Thomas, Mike Hildreth and Bryson Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Amedisys Home Health, Amedisys Hospice, Nickie Hammonds, Phyllis Cox, Frank Williams, members of the McShan community, Dr. Neil Honea and DCH Interventional Radiology.
