REFORM – Suzie Boyd Hamby, age 65, of Reform, Ala., died May 3, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Reform First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Hall and Rev. Joyce Snyder officiating. The family suggests casual dress for the service. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the ""father"" that raised her, Walter McKay.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hamby of Reform, Ala.; daughter, Brandi Allen of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; aunt, Esther Dean Walker of Gordo, Ala.; half-brother, Sydney ""Butch"" Boyd of Texas; and a number of cousins.
Suzie was born August 25, 1951 in Reform, Alabama to the late William Boyd and Christine Carpenter Bailey. She was a retired insurance agent for ALFA Insurance in Reform and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Andy Speed, Bill Ambrose, Hal Rozzelle, Jerry Bankston, Bobby Cowart, Dennis Pugh, Doug Pugh and Frank McCool.
Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Brown, Karl Vail and Michael Cooper.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
