Sylvia McDaniel Smith, age 79, of Northport, AL passed away September 21, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, September 24, 2021 at Arbor Springs Baptist Church in Reform with Rev. Ralph Smith and Rev. Ken Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt. (Retired) James Alton Smith, her parents and sister, Olivia Bates.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina Edmonds (Phil) and Bonnie Dean (Chris); son, Tony Smith (Camie); sister, Carolyn Pendley; brother, Perry McDaniel (Fleta); six grandchildren, Lauren, Austyn (Tessa), Alex, Alyson, Lane and Alyssa; four great-grandchildren, Carson, Lillee Jo, Olivia and Cooper; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Faye Hamner.
Sylvia was born January 27, 1942 in Reform, Alabama to the late H. B. "Black" McDaniel and Laudice Pate McDaniel. She was a homemaker and member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Lane Edmonds, Austyn Driver, Alex Smith, Tim Martin, Chris Dean and Perry McDaniel.
Honorary Pallbearers are PC 3 and staff and Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to The ALS Association, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022.
