Obituary

Terry Silas Driver, age 43, of Gordo, AL died May 5, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Gordo First United Methodist Church
Family Life Center with Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial
Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following
the service in the Family Life Center. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Driver and his grandparents, Gardner and Pauline
Driver and Silas and Wardine Stephens.
Survivors include his mother, Dot Driver; two brothers, Harold Driver (Shannon) and Tony Driver
(Sabrina); his nephews, Greg Driver (Kim), Cody Driver, Dillon Driver, Trace Parker, Cole Driver and John
Parker Driver; nieces, Cindy Driver (Johnathan), Brandy Martinez (Joey) and Shanon Williams (Chance);
great-nephews, Hal Driver, Trae Kizziah, Aiden Stephens, Eli Stephens and Brody Williams and great-nieces,
Meredith Driver, Mackenzie McDaniel, Alayna Jayne Driver, Kendall Martinez, Nola Driver and Avery Kate
Martinez.
Terry was born May 13, 1975 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a very special man who loved the
Lord and everyone he met. He would lend a helping hand, no matter the situation or time.
Terry was an active member of the Gordo Volunteer Fire Department. He never missed a pager call.
Assisting in coaching baseball, basketball and football was a major part of Terry's life. He loved helping with
ministering to the youth group at Gordo First United Methodist Church. Terry enjoyed spending as much
time as he could with family and friends; whether it was a cookout, holiday gathering, birthday gathering
or any other. Terry never met a stranger; he touched many lives throughout the years with his smiles and
hugs. He was loved deeply by all and will be greatly missed by family, friends and the Gordo community.
Pallbearers will be members of the Gordo Volunteer Fire Department.
Honorary Pallbearers are Sam, Darlene and Hunter Powell, Jonathan Pate, Dale Lancaster, Roddy
Sanders, Keith Dyer, Dr. Bilton, DCH 5 South and TSICU staff, Gordo High School Baseball, Football and
Basketball teams (past and present), Dr. Catherine Skinner and staff and Gordo First United Methodist
Church Youth Group.
