November 5, 1938 – March 9, 2019
Thomas Price Elmore, age 80, of Gordo, Ala., passed away March 9, 2019 at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Hershel Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Mark Bigham; his parents; a sister, Doris Shirley; and two brothers, Dawson Elmore and Ralph Elmore.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, June Pate Elmore of Gordo, Ala.; daughter, Tina B. Fike and her husband, Michael Fike of Gordo, Ala.; son, Thomas A. ""Tony"" Elmore and his wife, Laura Lee of Gordo, Ala.; sisters, Elsie Holliman, Mary Gwin and Loretta Gregory; brother-in-law, Randall Pate and wife, Sibbie Pate; six grandchildren, Hilary Green and husband, Jacob Green, John Caleb Bigham, Landon Fike, Jacob Fike, Ben Fike and Mary Grace Fike; and one great-grandchild, Hadley John Green.
Mr. Elmore was born November 5, 1938 in Gordo, Alabama to the late George Alec Elmore and Lowell O'Bryant Elmore. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, the Gordo Masonic Lodge # 564, Scottish Rite, Shriners and United States Army Reserve. He was owner and operator of Elmore Lumber and Supplies and a retired truck driver for Peco. Price was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Pallbearers will be John Caleb Bigham, Ben Fike, Jacob Green, Mikey Lancaster, Landon Fike, Palmer Cabaniss, Oscar Pate and Jimmy Holliman.
Honorary pallbearers are Gordo Masonic Lodge #564, former employees of Elmore Lumber and Supplies, fellow co-workers of Peco, Hospice nurses of Amedisys, friends and family of Old Towne Road and The Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 36607.
