FAYETTE | Thomas J.C. "Buddy" Bobo, age 72, of Fayette, died April 13, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Big Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Trey Kelly and Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Earline Parker (Homer), Vaudeen Freeman, Maveleen Crossland (Dewey), and Annie Lois Bobo.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rebazell Bobo; daughter, Shawn Bobo Shaw (Michael); son, James Daniel "Danny" Bobo; sisters, Ruby Walters (Raiford), Dorothy Beams (Dwight), and Verlee Guin (Mark); brother-in-law, Buford Freeman; grandchildren, Antonio Sanchez (Andrea), Jessica Sanchez (Justin Young), Holley Hall (Caleb), Ryan James (Tara), Samuel Boswell, Daniel Bobo (Brittany), Cheyenne Bobo, and Angel Barham; step-grandson, Christopher Shaw; great-grandchildren, Rachel Sanchez, Anastasia Sanchez, Marlie, Kenlee, and Abigail James, and Emma Hall; step-great-grandchildren, Elijah Shaw and Makayla Shaw; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bobo was born February 23, 1942, in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Austin Bobo and Mattie Lou Dyer Bobo. He was a retired employee of Pickens County Road Department.
Pallbearers will be Mike Shaw, Rodney Walters, Tim Parker, Johnny Dyer, Jerry Dyer, and Billy Latham.
Honorary pallbearers are Linda and Lawrence Plowman, Bill and Janice Barrentine, and June Hannah.
