Thomas Conwell Neel, Sr., age 90, of Gordo, AL passed away January 16, 2022 at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Souls Chapel Cemetery in Geiger, AL with Rev. Dr. Tim Alexander and Rev. Leon Ballard officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform handling arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Emitte Neel, Jr. and Eugene Neel and sisters, Myrtle Ruth Alexander and Martha Ann Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Anne McAteer Neel; his sons, Thomas Conwell Neel, Jr., Robert Michael Neel (Barbara) and Richard Nicholas Neel (Holly); five grandchildren, Chris Neel (Penny), Emily Neel Guin (Ryan), Hannah Neel, Susannah Neel and Jack Neel; four great-grandchildren, Lawson Neel, Jase Neel, Cannon Neel and Geiger Neel and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Thomas was born October 27, 1931 in Geiger, Alabama to the late Emitte Neel, Sr. and Myrtle Ruth Williams Neel. He was a retired manager for Miller Lumber Company in York, AL and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
