GORDO | Thomas Joel Noble, age 66, of Gordo went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Elmore Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Lenwood Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in Center Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Pugh Noble; his father, Thomas Noble; and his mother, Katie Byars Shaw.Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Creel (Stevie) and Lana Noble; sons, Scott Noble (Stacy), Wayne Noble and Zach Noble; stepfather, James Shaw; sisters, Millie McRee (Charles) and Robin Elmore (Charles); brother, Charles Noble; and five grandchildren, Taylor Noble, Destiny Noble, Madison Noble, Johnathyn Thomas Jones and Peyton Creel.Mr. Noble was born June 10, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a member of Elmore Center United Methodist, a retired brakeman with the KCS Railroad and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Joel was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.Honorary pallbearers are Gene Tilley and family, Wayne Goodman, Neil Myers, Charlie Rigdon, Dudley Burkhalter, Joel Stripling, Keith Sullivan, Zach Sullivan, Bill Shelton, Price Elmore, Alfred Taylor, Jimmy Foxhall, Daniel Livingston and friends of Rogersville Lane.The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Tuscaloosa DCH medical/oncology unit and to family and friends that visited, called and sent gifts.In lieu of flowers, Joel requested that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
