CARROLLTON | Thomas Otto Sharpe, age 66, of Carrollton, died March 10, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Pinson, Ala. with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by son, Thomas Neil Sharpe and his parents.Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gloria Walker Sharpe; daughters, Wendi Grace (James) and Kristina Sharpe (Bo Mathews); sons, Donald "Ricky" Sharpe (Jennifer) and Thomas J. Sharpe (Connie); son-in-law, Kenneth Thomas; brother and best friend, Jack Huston (Sandi); brother, Don R. Sharpe; sister-in-law, Vicki Knight (Jonathan); 13 grandchildren, Josie Cargile, Lucas Cargile, Robert Cargile, Danielle Grace, Lilly Grace, Daniel Sharpe, Anna Sharpe, Sarah Sharpe, Hannah Thomas, Hunter Thomas, Tori Harris, Lauren Holifield, India Mathews and Jalya Taylor; and nephews, Todd and Greg Sharpe and David Jeffries.Mr. Sharpe was born January 17, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Donald Sharpe and Lela Beasley Sharpe. He was a retired employee of the State of Alabama Department of Youth Services and a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Children's Hospital of Alabama at UAB, 1600 Seventh Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233-1785.
