Tona Junkin Crowell, age 73, of Gordo, AL passed away September 24, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Will Byars officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Crowell and her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William Crowell; daughter, Dusti Carpenter (Keith); son, Bill Crowell (Nikki); brothers, Ronnie Junkin (Carolyn) and Jerome Junkin (Judith); sister, Mona Sha Koon (Boyd); five grandchildren, Addison Nichols (Tyler), Lance Carpenter, Logan Crowell, Riley Byars (Will) and Brayden Crowell and three great-grandchildren, Sadie Harper, Rhett and Ruxton Nichols.
Tona was born October 16, 1947 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Homer Junkin and Lucille Sudduth Junkin. She was a retired registered nurse for DCH Regional Medical Center with 17 years of service.                                                                                                                                    Pallbearers will be Lance Carpenter, Logan Crowell, Brayden Crowell, John Junkin, Steven Koon, Stewart Koon and Tyler Nichols.                                    In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
