Trudie Virginia Burkhalter, age 90, of Gordo, AL passed away July 30, 2022 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in Hargrove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Eugene "Gene" Burkhalter; her parents; sisters, Katherine Burkhalter and Mary Martha Hollingsworth and brothers, John Henry White, Jr. and Jessie Oliver White.
Survivors include her sons, Ken Burkhalter (Jo), Sam Burkhalter (Pam), Ron Burkhalter (Sally) and Steve Burkhalter (Angie); sister, Frances Collins (Bill); fifteen grandchildren, Chris Burkhalter, Nathan Burkhalter, Lydia Hoffpauir (Cody), Corey Burkhalter (Allie), Elizabeth Mitchell (Hunt), Joel Burkhalter, Amelia Zuñiga (David), Curtis Burkhalter, Caleb Burkhalter (Irlanne), Ben Burkhalter, Joshua Burkhalter, Dylan Burkhalter, Lucas Burkhalter, Meredith Cureton (Justin) and Meagan Underwood; sixteen great-grandchildren, Brooke Burkhalter, Sophie Mitchell, Luke Hoffpauir, Jackson Mitchell, Landon Hoffpauir, Ohana Burkhalter, Stevie Underwood, Joseph Cureton, Joaquim Burkhalter, Brody Mitchell, Loren Hoffpauir, Conner Burkhalter, Camille Cureton, Ethan Burkhalter, Jonah Zuñiga and Blake Burkhalter; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Candy and Jimmy Oglesby.
Trudie was born September 2, 1931 in Gordo, Alabama to the late John Henry White and Effie Maude Hardy White. She was a homemaker and a member of Hargrove United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for 70 years.
Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
