GORDO - Trudie Mae Wilcox Jones, age 74, of Gordo, a native of Hawaii and longtime resident of Pickens County, died February 21, 2016, at Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Elmore and Rev. Thomas Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, February 23, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, D.K. Jones; her parents; her mother and father-in-law; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.Survivors include her daughters, Trudy Malone (Scotty) and Jennifer Callahan Skelton; sons, Roland Jones (Roxanne), Tim Jones (Becky), Al Jones (Gail), Draper (Fran) and Steven Richmond; a number of brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Dyer Wesley Jones, Drake Jones, Kaela Dayne Jones, Timothy Dawson Jones, Kristen Malone McAteer, Katherine Malone Posey, Rachel Malone, Chance Draper, Louanna Draper, Claudia Jones, Ethan Jones, Samuel Jones, Bellah Skelton, Jonah Skelton and Noah Skelton; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Connor McAteer, Olivia Mae Posey and Leilani Mae Gutekunst. Born January 23, 1942 in Hawaii, Trudie is a descendent of the royal family of Maui and the great-granddaughter of Robert William Kalanihiapo Wilcox, the first delegate to the United States Congress for the Territory of Hawaii.Trudie married Dawson Kenneth Jones and traveled from Hawaii to Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana then back to Alabama to settle in Gordo with her loving family. Trudie loved Asian and Hawaiian cuisine but mostly loved being around her family and friends.Pallbearers will be Cody McAteer, Drake Jones, Ethan Jones, Dawson Jones, Chance Draper, Dyer Jones, Aaron Posey and Jesse Malone.The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Noland Hospital.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Browns Chapel Cemetery Fund, P.O.
