Obituary

COKER - Verlee Bobo Guin, age 90, of Coker, Ala., died November 20, 2017 at Heritage Health & Rehab. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trey Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter L. James; second husband, Mark Guin; her parents, and sisters, Vaudine Freeman, Earline Parker (Homer) and Maveline Crossland (Dewey); and brother, J. C. Bobo.
Survivors include her sons, Earnest L. James and Bruce James, both of Gordo; stepson, Mark Guin, Jr. of Coker; step-daughters, Mona Guin of Tuscaloosa, Marsha Perdue (Ray) of Northport, Melanie Jackson (David) of Northport, Mitzi Nall of Cottondale and Mary Jean Montgomery (Terry) of Northport; sisters, Dorothy Beams (Dwight) of Northport and Ruby Walters (Raiford) of Gordo; sister-in-law, Reba Bobo; brother-in-law, Bueford Freeman; and twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Verlee was born September 18, 1927 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Auston Bobo and Mattie L. Dyer Bobo. She was a member of Coker Baptist Church and a retired employee of Westinghouse Corporation with 31 ½ years of service.
Pallbearers will be Lee Plowman, Tim Parker, Rodney Walters, Jerry Dyer, Johnny Dyer and Billy Dyer.
Honorary pallbearers are friends of Hwy 140 in Coker, Colen Dyer, friends of Zion community, co-workers of Westinghouse and the Hospice Chaplin at Heritage Health Care.
