Virginia was born November 3, 1944 in Ethelsville, Alabama to the late Parker Lee Ponds and Hellon Esther Duncan Ponds. She was a faithful and long time member of Liberty Assembly of God Church where she enjoyed singing soprano in "The Trio" with her brother and sisters-in-law. Her love for the latest fashion led her to work as a sales lady at Stokes Clothing in Reform for many years.
Virginia was a devoted and loving wife. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved nothing more than keeping her winning streak in her favorite game which earned her the title " Queen of Rook." She especially adored her great-grandson, Colt and always looked forward to showing him off to her friends at Morningview. She will always be remembered for the funny pranks she pulled, her southern cooking and her delicious sweet tea, but most of all by her strong Christian values.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Will Byars, Spencer Clary, Rilee Byars, Kory Adams, Seth Harkness and Blake Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Morningview, staff at Fayette and Tuscaloosa DCH and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Liberty Assembly of God, 268 Ruffin Road, Millport, AL 35576 or Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
