REFORM | Virginia Windham Dyer Free, age 90, of Reform, Ala., passed away on October 10, 2014 at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Brannon Pinion and Rev. Tim McCool officiating. Burial will follow services in Hargrove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Hester Free; her son, Lynnis Worth Dyer; brothers, Lauren and Lanthus Windham; and her sisters, Lucille Burkhalter and Callie Edgeworth Bailey.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Leona Carroll, Betty O'Bryant, Melisa George, Jane Cobb, Mary Spain, and Katie Driver.
Virginia was born December 19, 1923 in Pickens Country, Alabama to the late Samuel Lawrence Windham and Mattie Hardy Windham. She was a retired employee of Druid City Hospital, a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Pickens county.
Pallbearers will be Larry Windham, Lanny Windham, Mac Smith, Bobby Cowart, Ron Cameron, Dale Lancaster, and Walter Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers are Heritage Health Care employees.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hargrove UMC Cemetery Fund in c/o Sue Fair 4057 County Road 57, Gordo, AL 35466.
