Virginia Jordan Ruffin, age 96, of Aliceville, AL passed away October 18, 2020 at Generations of Vernon. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Griffin and Rev. Brandon Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery in Reform, AL with Skelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family requests that masks be worn due to COVID -19:
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Franklin Ruffin, Sr.; three sons, Hollis Frank Ruffin, Jr., Jerry D. Ruffin and Joseph R. Ruffin; great-grandson, Dustin W. Egger; great-great grandson, Layne Rogers; her parents; brother, James R. Jordan and his wife, Esther and niece, Jean
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Carol Abston and husband, Richard of Vernon, AL; two grandchildren, Adrienne Abston Hathcock (Jason) and Allan Abston (LeAnn); six great-grandchildren, Logan Waldon, Braxton, Jace and Haden Hathcock, Kesslon Abston and Jessie Thomas; niece, Linda Jordan Laycook (Grayden) of Maryland and nephew, James "Bobby" Jordan (Karen) of Maryland.
Virginia was born February 29, 1924 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late James Rufus Jordan, Sr. and Ida Mae Moss Jordan. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Vernon. Virginia was a retired employee of Huyck Felt Company and a lifetime caregiver to her family.
Virginia was a loving, caring and selfless mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and lived her life in obedience to Him.
Pallbearers will be Allan Abston, Braxton Hathcock, Jace Hathcock, Haden Hathcock, Jason Hathcock and Richard Abston.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of West End Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Vernon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4500 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814
