Obituary

REFORM – Walter H. "Hulley" Wheat, age 79, of Reform, Ala., died February 8, 2018, at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab. Services will be 6 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McLaurine officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, Jerry Ross Wheat.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Reagan Wheat of Reform, Ala.; daughter, Christy Wheat of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Walter Curtis Wheat of Reform, Ala.; sister, Doris Faye Thornton; sister-in-law, Valerie Wheat; two grandchildren, Derek James and Cameron Wheat; two great-grandchildren, Braydon James and Avery James; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Hulley was born August 10, 1938 in Reform, Alabama to the late Claudie Elijah Wheat and Martha Gertrude Connell Wheat. He was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Reform and a retired truck driver for Central Foundry and Tamko.
Honorary pallbearers are David Jennings, members of Reform Masonic Lodge #172 and members of First Presbyterian Church of Reform.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Judy Davidson, Gene Worrell, Jake Aronov, staff of Pickens County Medical Center, Arbor Woods and Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Reform Volunteer Fire Department, City of Reform, Attn: Richard Black, P.O. Box 489, Reform, AL 35481.
