Walter Ray Trammel, age 80, of Ethelsville, died January 8, 2014, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville with Rev. Shawn McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Fuller Trammel; second wife, Helen B. Oglesby Trammel Pate; his parents; and sisters, Mae Hemby and Nora Faye Brandenburg.Survivors include his daughters, Gwen T. Leake (Bill) of Argo, Ala. and Darlene Shaw (David) of Millport, Ala.; sons, Wayne Trammel (Norma) of Millport, Ala. and Ricky Trammel (Tana) of Reform, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Shawn McDaniel (April), Huntley Peeks (Shannon), Josh Trammel (Ashley), Erica T. Hannah (Kyle), Dillon Trammel, Carla L. Screws (Chris) and Kelly Leake; and eight great-grandchildren, Noah and Eli McDaniel, Ana Jo and Ali Ray Peeks, Katie Lowery, Aubrey and Drake Trammel, and Karsen Hannah.Mr. Trammel was born January 2, 1934 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Walter B. Trammel and Nellie Mae Martin Trammel.
