GORDO | Wayne Edward Bowen, age 75, of Gordo, died December 1, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, Ala. with Leonard Hudson officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Tula Martin Bowen; mother and father-in-law, John Henry and Avalou Beard; brother, Johnny Bowen; sister, Elaine Bowen Bridges; brother-in-law, Ralph Beard; and son-in-law, Ronny Junkin.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, June Beard Bowen; daughters, Wendy Bowen Junkin and Crystal Bowen Hodo (Mark); son, Buddy Bowen; five grandchildren, Allison Junkin Plowman (Jerry), Kimberly Fair, Heather Fair, Tyler Junkin and John Michael Fair; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Melba Beard Fair; and special friends, Keith Walmsley and Kelli Brooke Dickens.
Honorary pallbearers are George Jr. and Mary Koon, Virgil and Louise Whitten, Leonard and Sherry Hudson, Charlie Pate, staff members of DCH Outpatient Lab, Dr. Ann Lewis, Dr. Craig Buettner, Dr. Syed Aslam, Dr. Anne Scott, John H. Chambers CFNP, Med South, Inc., special nurses from Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at DCH, Kelli Clark, Kandi Brewer and Michelle Cox, and a host of friends, including past and present Gordo school bus drivers and charter bus drivers.
