Obituary

ALICEVILLE - William Harper ""Billy"" Huff, Sr., age 83, of Aliceville, Ala., passed away January 22, 2018 at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Aliceville First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Potts and Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Garden Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Claire Harmon.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Glenda McKee Huff of Aliceville; daughters, Amy Huff Cox (Mike ""Booty"") of Carrollton and Gena Huff of Aliceville; sons, Sandy Huff (Teri) of Elrod and Bill Huff (Karen) of Aliceville; grandchildren, Wes Cox (Sara) of Tuscaloosa, Grace Cox of Nashville, Tenn., Carmen Huff of Aliceville and Naomi Klinner of Prattville.
Billy was born December 8, 1934 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late William Avery Huff and Nona Faye Kirk Huff. He graduated Aliceville High School in 1953 and Mississippi State University as a member of Pi Kappa Alpha in 1957 with a BS in advertising.
He married Glenda McKee on September 20, 1958.
Billy was a member and deacon of Aliceville First Baptist Church where he joined at the age of six and he served over 40 years as Sunday school teacher for 5th and 6th grade children.
Billy worked in the family grocery business from the age of ten until his retirement and of course made daily visits after that. He was a member of the Advisory Board of Directors for Piggly Wiggly Alabama Distributing Co. 1982 - 1987 and Piggly Wiggly Alabama Distributing Co. Board of Directors 1987- present.
Billy served as an MP in the National Guard and was a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Max Allen, Johnny Colvin, Allen Harmon, Mason Keene, Joe Durett and Brett Harmon.
Honorary pallbearers are his close friends.
